HARVESTED October 22, 2010
VINEYARD
The vineyard is located at an elevation of 1350’ high above Lake Hennessey in an area known as Pritchard Hill with well-drained rocky red volcanic soil and fortunate sun exposure above the cloud line. Temperature variations are more moderate than in Oakville at a lower elevation leading to the development of ideal definition and intensity of flavors. Strategic planting and diligent canopy management during the growing season oset intense sun and windy conditions.
VINTAGE
The gifts of our splendid location embraced the cool growing season of 2010. The grapes enjoyed extended time on the vine resulting in graceful balance in the glass. The 2010 Vintage was harvested on October 22nd.
VINIFICATION
The 2010 vintage was fermented in Stainless Steel on the skins for 41 days. The wine was aged in 82% new French oak. Barrels from several cooperages were utilized. After 26 months of aging the wine was bottled using gravity flow without fining and filtration.
